Vertical storage tanks are typically used for bulk storage and have some key advantages to horizontal tanks. A vertical tank can generally handle a large amount of product because the pressure distribution provides greater strength than a horizontal tank. It simply lacks the stress points found in a horizontal tank. A vertical tank is more cost effective than a horizontal tank because it requires less material to manufacture it. This is because its walls do not need to be as thick as they have less diameter than a horizontal tank. Pumping costs are reduced because a vertical tank takes advantage of gravity. Saves space and in general requires a smaller footprint at your plant.
